The Campbell River Blind Curling team travelled to Prince George for the Provincial Championships last week. We placed 3rd winning over Kelowna and had two real close games against Vancouver and Prince George. In our last game against Prince George, the score was 3 to 2 after 5 ends with two blank ends. Then they scored a 4 ender. The team did not give in and had a chance in the last end, but the skip out drew us. The team played outstandingly against some of the other teams who have more then 10 yrs experience. Our team has been curling for only a few months and had only 4 games prior to going. All the players really enjoyed meeting the other teams and the camaraderie. The hosts were fantastic taking care of the team. Placing 3rd allows us a berth into the Western Canadian Championships in Winnipeg March 8th. The team would like to recognize the fantastic support from the Curling Club in our silent auction and bake sale. The following is a list of businesses that supported our auction, so please support them and thank them when you can.
